Stitch By Stitch Mini Quilt Instructions
Tiny quilts with lots of detail and many techniques are my favorites to make. I also enjoy precision stitching and I spend a great deal of time determining how we can get spectacular results with tricky stitching.
So far I’ve made nine of these little quilts and I can’t stop! Each of my testers made a fantastic little piece her first time with these tips and tricks, and I’m confident you can too!
The Stitch by Stitch booklet is 16 pages of colorful illustrations and over 20 block designs for you to choose from. Also included are a reusable freezer paper block layout and stitching guide, a reusable freezer paper template for the appliqued border, and the Block Dot sheet with additional stitching guides. These pieces all work together to help you achieve amazing outcomes! I’m betting you’ll want to make more than one and I know you’ll learn tips and tricks to help with all your quilting tasks.
Features of these tiny quilts:
Block designs stitched precisely by machine with heavy 12wt thread
Sashing of 1/8” ribbon couched in place with thin, 100wt thread
Appliqued border with thin, 100wt thread, so fabric motifs continue around the corners
Adorable embellishment ideas
Skills you’ll learn:
Machine stitching with heavy threads (setting up your machine, stitching accurate designs, starting/stopping)
Machine stitching with thin threads (setting up your machine, couching, appliqueing)
Making embellished prairie points
Hand embellishing with felted wool balls and tiny buttons
Squaring up a quilting without cutting it (my very favorite all-time tip)
